For HVAC and trades
Getting an HVAC company found when it matters
HVAC demand arrives in spikes and emergencies. The furnace dies on the coldest night of the year, the AC goes in a heatwave, and somebody searches with no patience at all. Being one of the two or three names that comes back is worth more in that hour than a month of ordinary marketing.
What decides who gets named
When somebody types "AC repair near me" — or asks an assistant the same thing in a sentence — the answer is assembled from a small number of signals:
- A complete, correctly categorised Google Business Profile with accurate hours. If you offer 24-hour emergency service and your profile says you close at five, you are invisible at exactly the moment you are most needed.
- Recent reviews, weighted for recency. In a trade where the customer is stressed and comparing quickly, this is the trust shortcut.
- Service areas set properly, so you appear across the territory you genuinely cover rather than just your own postcode.
- Readable pages about the specific services you provide — emergency repair, replacement, maintenance plans, commercial work — so an engine answering a specific question can match you to it.
The seasonal trap
Most HVAC companies think about marketing when they are quiet, which is the worst possible timing. Reviews accumulate slowly and profile changes take weeks to settle. Work done in the shoulder season is what pays in the spike; work started during the spike arrives after it has passed.
The practical version: the right month to fix this is the month before you need it.
Maintenance plans are a visibility asset
If you run maintenance agreements, you have something most trades do not — a scheduled, predictable moment of contact with a satisfied customer, several times a year. That is the ideal trigger for a review request, and it is almost always going unused.
What we do
- Google Business Profile claimed, categorised, hours and service areas set to reality.
- Automated review requests after each completed job and each maintenance visit.
- A site on your own domain with a lead form that works at 2am, and service pages engines can read.
- Citations that agree across directories.
We do not guarantee any engine will recommend you. Nobody can. No engine sells placement and none publish how they rank. What we do is improve the signals they demonstrably read, then measure it monthly and report it whether it moved or not.
How we measure it
We run twenty real buyer questions for your market past ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude, three times each. Twenty questions, four engines, three runs is 240 checks. Three runs because these answers vary between runs, and a single check cannot tell a business that gets recommended reliably from one that got named once by luck. That first run is a baseline; the same questions are re-run every month against the same engines, so movement is comparable instead of a moved goalpost.
Questions we get asked
We get most work from one big commercial account. Does this apply?
It applies as insurance. Concentration in one account is the main risk in a contracting business, and the residential side is the hedge. Building visibility while you do not need it is the only time it is cheap.
Do emergency searches really go through AI assistants?
Increasingly, yes — people describe the problem in a sentence rather than guessing a search term. Those answers name a handful of businesses and the ranking inputs largely overlap with Maps, which is why we work on both together rather than treating them as different projects.
How long does this take?
Site and profile inside about a week. Review flow starts immediately. Search movement usually over one to three months. We re-measure monthly and report it either way.
